When Crossroads Music in Port Townsend had an All Things Ukulele pop up store, we decided to show up. It was a wet and windy day, and we warmed things up nicely.
We had so much fun with Aaron and Nicole Keim at Uke Fest last fall that we decided to invite them for a workshop and concert. We had a wonderful workshop in March, and they have sent us a kind bread and butter note.
Dave Parisse, George Yount, and Bruce Cowan were on the “Discovery Road” show with Tim Quackenbush, Fall, 2012. You can give it a listen here:
October 23, 2012, a group of us took a Blues Workshop with Paul Hemmings Uketet at the Upstage and stuck around for his concert. What a great teacher and player!
Wow! We had a great day with Del Rey, who is a master of the instrument, a student of the music, a great teacher, and a spirited performer. And she’s fun!

Our day at the Lutheran Church began with a class that worked on the song “My Four Reasons.” In the second session we worked on a Memphis Jug Band tune: “You May Leave, But This Will Bring You Back.”
In the evening we enjoyed Del’s concert, which featured her own compositions, rags, and blues on ukulele and guitar. Many thanks to the members who helped make this happen.
Pics below are from the instruction. The first four are from “My Four Reasons”: Lyrics, Lyrics, Chords, and Chord Solo. The next one is the Lyrics and Chords of “You May Leave”. Let us know if we left out some lyrics …
And yes, we have a video of Del playing that chord solo from My Four Reasons. Here ’tis:
